from Tangier I took a ferry directly to Séte, France. This was because I didn't want to ride the roads along the South coast of Spain to France, since I had been there already a few times and because the more northern roads might be closed at that time of the year (March). That route would also have been a very cold one. So I arrived in Séte and continued to Avignon to visit the Palais des Papes, to Paris to visit a friend of mine, to Cologne (Köln) to visit another friend of mine and the to Travemünde for the next ferry to Finland. Riding in Germany in the end of March was so cold that I had to stop every 50 km to dring tea to warm up. The weather forecast for Finland was such that I decided to call a friend to pick me up in the Port of Helsinki to avoid riding on snow.
